As we’re growing so fast, there are enormous opportunities for individuals at Screwfix to grow and progress. Our programmes will help you to achieve your ambitions and realise your potential – whether that is progress into management or move across the business.

Hundreds of people take part in our development programmes, including around 10% of our 11,000 store colleagues. Our fantastic training is a big reason why over 60% of our management roles are filled by people who are already part of the Screwfix team.

Our First Steps and Trade Up programmes have been specifically designed to help our store colleagues move from Service Assistant right through to Store Manager. Trade Up to ASM & BM are our new apprenticeship programmes that help to identify and grow our future Assistant Store Managers and Branch Managers. We are so passionate about retail that we were part of the employer Retail Trailblazer group that helped develop the Retail Apprenticeship standards and so are Trade Up programmes lead to either a Level 3 Retail Team Leader or Level 4 Retail Manager apprenticeship. 

Head Office and Contact Centre
Join one of our teams here and you’ll enjoy a huge range of programmes that will support you to progress through the business. Whether you are looking to progress into more senior management roles or simply move from the Contact Centre into a Head Office role there are always opportunities available. In the last year colleagues on our head office development programmes have even visited places such as Google, Facebook and the London Stock Exchange to learn skills that will support them in the future.
