“I started my management career at Screwfix as a Service Assistant. Since then I’ve progressed to an Assistant Store Manager, driving sales and managing the day-to-day running of the store.

In my role I bring people together and get them working as a team, learning and sharing how to do things the smart way – rather than the hard way. Apart from the daily tasks like cash and stock – every day at Screwfix is different and there’s always something new to learn.

I think our employee engagement tool is very good. I’ve witnessed its success, so I know it works. I think giving people the opportunity to see how they contribute to the success of a business gives them a sense of belonging. Work doesn't feel like just somewhere to go to pass the time, there’s more of a sense of – today I’m going to contribute.”
