"My name is Adeyinka and I am currently a Customer Service Supervisor at the Olympics site. I joined Screwfix as a part-time Service Assistant at the Bow branch in January 2008. I went full time in November 2008 and made Supervisor in January 2009.
For me, working with Screwfix has so far been a truly satisfying experience. I enjoy the day-to-day challenges of dealing with customers and my team members. I like the problem-solving that each day brings as well as the sense of satisfaction I get from a customer going away happy.
My current role as supervisor at the Olympics site has given me more experience in management. It has evolved from merely being a Supervisor to include Duty Manager duties and because the branch has not got an Assistant Manager, my role includes many responsibilities normally undertaken by an Assistant Manager.
I have undergone plenty of training courses, including health and safety awareness, a CSCS card test which enables me to work on a construction site, first aid training, payroll training, stock control training, and systems training.
As a Supervisor I have had the luck to work with a number of Branch Managers and have been able to learn a little bit more from each one of them, which has made my experience richer.
Working with Screwfix has been a unique experience so far. The company is so big and getting bigger. Yet, because of the team and support you get, you still manage to feel like an individual and realise you’ll be heard whenever you have something to say. Also, when you have issues, there is always someone either on the IT team, the network of Managers, or within the team, who can help."
